Peter Harley OAM

Peter Harley, with his family and his parents before him, have been long standing residents of Freshwater.  He is the current and inaugural President of the Friends of Freshwater Inc. and has been involved in a wide variety of community, not for profit, organisations throughout his life and often in a leadership capacity. He is proud of the fact that he and the other Executives of the Friends of Freshwater use their various skills to work closely with the three tiers of government on a variety of community projects, often with the assistance of grant funding for projects.  In 2019, Peter was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for his contribution to community organisations.


Phil Curry
Phil and his wife Judy have been residents of Freshwater/Queenscliff for 45 years. Phil has a background in Public Sector Administration, has been self- employed for over 25 years and maintains a keen interest in the building trades. Phil is a foundation member of the Friends of Freshwater Executive and is committed to the effective management of development within the Freshwater Village and it’s residential surrounds. He believes a constructive relationship with Council, adherence to Planning Laws and community engagement are integral to the protection of Freshwater as a vibrant seaside village and a great place to live.


Denise Goldstein
Denise Goldstein and her family have been residents of Freshwater for 25 years. Denise has a background in Corporate IT Sales Management and for the last 15 years has run her own Search and Recruitment Advisory. 
As a founding member of Friends of Freshwater, Denise is passionate about the uniqueness of the Freshwater Community and has worked to represent community concerns around sustainable and sensible improvements to the Village and surrounds.
The Friends of Freshwater is a diverse group of local residents all working to the same goals and engaging in a non-political way with stakeholders from the residents, to the business owners and Local, State and Federal Government.  
It has been my privilege to work with dedicated and committed colleagues whose sole focus is representing the voice of community in a productive manner.

Rob Keeping with Denise have lived in the Queenscliff Freshwater area for over 30 years, with the last 26 years in Freshwater itself where his son was born. He has a business background in motion graphics software and digital services and with these digital services has helped with this Community website creation. He continues a close committment to the Friends of Freshwater and has been on the Committee for 4+ years.

Diana Ryall AM
Diana and Bill are pleased to have become part of the Freshwater community since 2014.  However, Freshwater was the preferred beach for her family over 60 years ago.  She is delighted to be a part of the Friends for Freshwater and supports the group as best she can.  Diana worked at Apple for almost 20 years and then founded her own company Xplore for Success.  She is a strong supporter of gender equality, climate action and building a better future.

John Oliver

Jill Wrathall
Jill and her husband Tom moved to Freshwater in mid 2018 when the Harbord Diggers development of Watermark Freshwater was completed. Jill and Tom raised their family in Balgowlah Heights and have been visitors to Freshwater for many years. Jill is a local Social Worker who has worked in various community organisations, supporting people who face life challenges to find their voice and live well in their community.
